Important constituent molecules of Xian Feng Cao ariels are the cytopiloyne (abbreviated CP) which has been the focus of copious research and other polyacetylenes, as well as the plant’s wide range of flavanoids (e.g. luteolin, quercetins, centaurein), and porphyrins (bidenphytin A & bidenphytin B).

Xian Feng Cao is used around the world from Southern Asia, India, Africa and Latin America. Its common name in English is “Spanish Needle” which suggests that the Spanish arrivals in the Americas were the first Europeans to learn to use this herb.

Nokomis extracts are often more potent than other extracts made with industrially-farmed Xian Feng Cao. Our dried Xian Feng Cao extract is also more potent than fresh root extracts since fresh roots are about 70% water. Higher potency means more value and more benefit with each dropperful.
