Bhringraj (Eclipta Alba) was strongly recommended to us by our Ayurvedic practitioners in India. This is an important herb in India, but it was largely overlooked in the US until recently.

Eclipta Alba is also referred to as Eclipta Prostrata in the scientific literature, and the NIH database refers to the herb with both of these names interchangeably. In Ayurvedic texts, Bhringraj is indicated as a GI tonic and in support of skin and hair health with Bhringraj now being the scientific focus of neural research and other long-term health research as well.* Bhringraj is also known in the Chinese tradition as Han Lian Cao. Chen and Chen include Bhringraj in their chapter on Tonifying Herbs, in the Chinese Medical Herbology and Pharmacology (2012).
